Tulsa Journalism Internship Available

Oklahoma Magazine has a couple of intern slots available. They are unpaid, but they provide good experience for students whose goals are to work in print media and/or write as a freelancer. The hours are flexible, but they really need morning people.

I am doing 10 hours per week there. So far, I’ve worked on the calendar and the dining guide. One of the interns has had a chance to write an article already. Sometimes we run errands or answer phones. I get to see how a magazine is run, meet and talk with locally-famous people, and learn the type of writing and photographs that the magazine is using. (This helps me as a freelance writer/photographer which is my goal.) We are also gearing up for the Wedding Show in January – a major deal with the magazine. The interns work for whoever needs them whether it be the Administrative assistant, the editors or the graphics people.

If you are interested, contact Jami Mattox at to set up an interview.
