OSU Journalism/Broadcasting Career Services

OSU College of Arts and Sciences Career Services offers a Bachelors of Arts and a Bachelors of Science in Journalism and Broadcasting with options in Advertising, Broadcast Journalism, News Editorial, and Public Relations.

In addition to developing skills in writing and editing, students develop relevant technical/equipment skills, problem solving skills, teamwork/leadership skills, and time management/project management skills.

Students are encouraged to participate in various video productions, at the KXYZ Radio Station and various internships in regional broadcast & cable outlets. Included on the OSU Web site is a list of Jobs and Internships available through organizations such as National Association of Broadcasters, Associated Press, and Jobs in Sports.

According to the OSU Web site, graduates from the Journalism & Broadcasting School are currently working as self-employed, 14%; in the nonprofit sector, 8%; in Government/military, 6%; in education, 8%; and in the private, for-profit sector, 64%.
